At Dessau Middle School, creativity thrives in our diverse Fine Arts programs! Students explore visual arts, band, choir, theater, and dance—guided by passionate instructors who nurture talent and expression. From sketching and design to live performances, our programs inspire creativity, teamwork, and confidence.

Dessau Middle School is proudly an AVID National Demonstration Campus, offering a transformative program for motivated middle school students. AVID prepares students with essential academic skills, college readiness, and career exploration through interactive learning, writing development, college visits, and community engagement, fostering leadership and academic excellence.

At Dessau Middle School, every student and staff member belongs to one of four unique Houses—Mojave, Timbers, Crotalus, or Sidewinders—each inspired by a different species of rattlesnake and connected to a university partner. Our House System builds unity, leadership, and school pride by fostering teamwork, healthy competition, and a strong sense of belonging.

At Dessau Middle School, our Diamondbacks take pride in teamwork, sportsmanship, and determination. Our athletics program offers students the opportunity to participate in football, volleyball, basketball, soccer, track and field, and cross country. Through practices, games, and competitions, students learn the value of discipline, resilience, and collaboration while representing their school with pride.
